Take a nice stroll down the beach or pour some wine and watch the sunset from the balcony. Lounge by the pool or immerse yourself in nature at nearby El Yunque. Experience the local cuisine and frituras in the famous Luquillo kiosks or make your own delicacies in our fully equipped kitchen. Play some tennis or build sandcastles. You can live it all! This rating should be a 5 star judging for the attentiveness of your staff and the apartment conditions, however the surrounding disrepair due to hurricane Maria not yet corrected gives it a 4. From the apartment your view includes the beach, El Yunque mountain range, and the main roadway entrance. We took nice pictures from the balcony to share them with friends and family. The pool non-operational was a non issue to us, after all the beach is just out the gate. The surrounding areas within the complex still show hurricane damage, however the surroundings are well manicured, grass cut etc. The apartment is very well kept, everything works and even have beach chairs, volleyball ball, beach toys for the kids, towels etc..., the kitchen well stocked just get what you need from the supermarket across the street. The welcome binder has excellent tips for entertainment and dinning suggestions. The instructions were clear, and to the point. Security personnel where very attentive, alert, respectful, helpful, specially Jose Colon, whom assisted us during our late arrival Friday night. We can say we stayed at our home away from home. The condo is a clean and very spacious. The location of this gatesd community provided a great access to the beach right out of the gate or 5 min drive to the public beach. There is supermarket and pharmacy nearby as well. Great communication and help from the manager/owner. Swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, 24 hour security guard - all this made our stay very comfortable. The condo itself can use some updating, some small appliances have to be replaced, but overall we were very happy with our first vacation as a family of 6 and would return again. The facilities were clean, well-maintained and secure. We were a party of 5 and found the condo to be ample for our three generations of visitors. The condo staff were friendly and happy to help. The windows were opened for a refreshing breeze upon our arrival and a courtesy bottle of rum awaited us. The kitchen is well-stocked with basics such as salt, pepper and other spices. . A large washer and dryer with detergent helped to make the stay stress-free. Beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels are thoughtfully provided. On the property are two pools, basketball, racquetball and tennis courts and a large multi-purpose building that could be used for a gathering. Prior to departure the owner and agent sent us detailed and very accurate directions to drive from San Juan airport to the condo. Within walking distance are good restaurants and bars as well as grocery stores and a pharmacy. The well known Kiosks are a five minute drive from the condo and are worth the trip, as are the Nature Preserve and Rain Forest. Luquillo is a quiet town with kind and friendly people. We would return to Playa Azul and recommend it to others.

The unit was clean and well maintained. The property was as described in the literature. We had a party of seven and had plenty of room. Easy access to a clean beach area that was like a private beach. A reef area was close by to allow good snorkeling with a variety of fish. We tried a few of the local restaurants and found the food good with a large variety of choices. I would highly recommend the unit, and Johns team was readily available to meet our needs.

My family and I stayed here for 10 days and it was wonderful. It is away from the traditional tourist spots so the beaches were not crowded and were very pleasant. You will need a car if you visit and want to get around though. The amenities in the unit and on the grounds were wonderful. The in unit washer and dryer were key when traveling with our small children and all of the beach supplies made it that we didn't need to bring or buy much (our oldest son LOVED the boogie board). The playground, pool, tennis and basketball courts, and general grassy areas were always clean and another great feature for the kids. The unit could use some updating to the toilets and kitchen cabinets, but everything worked and was clean when we arrived and considering the price you can't beat it. You don't have a straight on view of the closest water, but if you look to the right you can see it and it is spectacular. I enjoyed sitting and relaxing on the balcony every morning and night just taking in the sounds of the water and of the people of Luquillo. To the left you will find an amazing view of El Yunque rainforest. The staff and neighbors in the building were very friendly and working with the management company to book and make arrangements was a pleasant experience also. The unit was well stocked with the little things to make it feel like a home also. I highly recommend this unit for people who want to visit the island, but not stay in the regular tourist areas and love going to the beach. We were a family of 8 and had the best time here. We were close to El Yunque and the Kiosks. We had 4 teenagers and no one ever said they were bored, which was a big plus for us! They didn't want to go anywhere because they either wanted to go to the beach or stay in the pool. I even left something behind when we left and the ower was so nice to mail it to me! The five stars are based on VALUE of the property as it has lower price than some others in the area. The owner provided excellent service for all transactions. The property is well appointed and spacious. The porch has views on 3 sides. And the beach is right there! The tropical rainforest was just 10 minutes to the entrance and about 25 minutes to the trailheads. We hiked to the waterfall and my kids swam, We also hiked to the top of the mountain. Very cool. The property is also pretty close (40 minutes) to Old San Juan and costs a fraction of the price of the 3 hotel rooms I would have needed. Would definitely stay in this condo again. We had a wonderful stay. As others have said, the location is unbeatable--steps from a gorgeous beach, a short hop from El Yunque, the Luquillo beach and kiosks, and Fajardo. San Juan is an easy day trip, too. The condo's decor is dated and pretty minimal, but we weren't in the market for something fancy. The place was clean, everything worked, and the view was amazing. The real luxury was having separate bedrooms for our kids at such a reasonable price! The only drawback worth mentioning is that, because the condo is on the inland side of the building, it gets traffic noise from nearby Highway 3. We couldn't hear it at night from the bedrooms over the hum of the a/c, so it wasn't a problem for us. If ever we go back to Luquillo, we'll definitely consider staying here again. I no longer live in Puerto Rico but did for many years and Playa Azul was our favorite beach. We returned in January for our son's wedding and stayed at this beautiful 3 bedroom condo. It was absolutely wonderful. It is roomy, well furnished, well stocked with games, beach equipment, everything one needs in the kitchen including a blender for smoothies and pina coladas, spices, and condiments. There is a grocery store and a pharmacy right across the street and we loved being able to walk right out onto Blue Beach. The porch rail had just been replaced and we spent much time sitting out there admiring the view of the beach and mountains. John and Annette were great about getting back to me with answers to any questions and dealing with them was stress free and pleasant. We will be back soon!

John is a great person to work with, and was able to answer all questions we had during our stay. The place was clean, and ready for us early. The walk to the beach thru the back gate, made for a very convenient location to get a way and relax. If/When my brother and I go back to Puerto Rico we will work with John right away.

We had a wonderful time at this property, we were a family of 5,3 teenagers, plus grandparents, the condo was very comfortable it had a awesome view and a great breeze that ran through the condo. Its location was perfect, easy in and out of the condo. the boys enjoyed the beach out front as well as la par surfing beach, just walking distance. thank you we had a wonderful stay Recommended for: People with Disabilities, Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Tourists without a Car, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers.

Location fantastic, view wonderful of both the beach and the Rain Forest from the balcony. Grocery store, Walgreens and McDonalds right across the street which was awesome. Great restaurant/bar called the Brass Cactus 5 minute walk from the condo. Safe location/security also very good on the condo grounds. Accommodations a little small for our group of 7 adult sized people however we made it work and had a fantastic time. Many thanks to Bruny and her husband who met us at the car rental facility to give us keys and instructed us from there which was very easy to follow. If it was our first time in Puerto Rico an escort to the condo would have been essential but we had been there before so we knew the location and were able to get to the condo on our own at night. I would highly recommend this condo experience to anyone. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway, Families with Teenagers.Response
